He Huewai Ola

He Huewai Ola, the living water gourd, symbolically referring to the man as a vessel of life that is guided by the god Kāne. He Huewai Ola project is based on a community-identified need for cultural education activities to prevent domestic and family violence during the Hawaii State stay-at-home order due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This strength-based approach program, will offer mentoring, instruction, and inspiration to families through the development of cultural practices and skills (e.g. cooking, carving, lomi, dance, mele, building projects, and others).
