ʻAha Kāne 2012 - Haʻi ʻŌlelo from Oiwi TV on Vimeo.
The art of oration is rooted in our ancient traditions and was a skill perpetuated by the ali‘i and kahuna classes. Ha‘i‘ōlelo was cultivated in the royal courts and used in public to recount our history and legends, and as a means to communicate with the multitudes concerning current events and/or issues important to the lāhui. Please note: Mālama piha ‘ia kēia papa ma ka ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i wale nō. Inā ‘a‘ole i pa‘a mua ka ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i iā ‘oe, e aho e komo i kekahi papa ‘ē a‘e.
